According to the Islamic tradition, Ibrahim was once commanded by Allah to sacrifice his son Ishmael. However, just as Ibrahim was about to carry out the sacrifice, Allah intervened and prevented it. This event is commemorated by Muslims as a symbol of Ibrahim's unwavering devotion, and during the festival of Eid ul-Adha, they perform their own animal sacrifices.

In the bustling capital city of Dhaka, the significance of this festival is vividly displayed, especially when heavy rainfall coincides with Eid ul-Adha. The streets of Dhaka can become a striking sight as rainwater mingles with the blood of the numerous animals sacrificed. It creates a mesmerizing scene where red streams flow through the city's thoroughfares.

On the morning of Eid ul-Adha, people gather for a significant prayer session. One of the largest prayer congregations in the country takes place in Dhaka, graced by the presence of the President of Bangladesh. Following the prayers, everyone returns to their homes to partake in a joyous feast and celebrate the occasion.
